Christina Pittman joined the Office of Field Education in January 2018 as the inaugural field education coordinator.  In this role Pittman has the opportunity to engage with students and community partners through the execution of student orientations and community events hosted by the Office of Field Education.  She also enjoys engaging with community partners in the matching processes related to field education, and more specifically with those agencies that are interested in partnering with the School of Social Work to offer placement sites for students.  Pittman also serves as a faculty field liaison, where she has the opportunity to teach and engage with students during their field education experience. She is passionate about the holistic support of every student, and is especially committed to work with first-generation college students.   

Previously Pittman served as a B.S.W. Student Success Advisor in the School of Social Work, providing individualized support to students, creating initiatives and campaigns for at-risk students, and coordinating programs focused on the retention of social work students.  She also was responsible for the creation of new student orientations and recruitment events. Prior to her work in higher education, Pittman had a clinical focus working with children, adolescents, and their families in her role as an intensive in home clinician.

Outside of the professional setting, Pittman is committed to health, wellness, and self-care.  Much of her self-care time is focused in cycling, dog walks, play time with her daughter, and dedicated time with family and friends.
