As the director of advising and retention, Sarah’s focus is on the holistic development of social work students from the time they enroll in one of our programs until they walk across the commencement stage. Sarah is responsible for oversight of the following areas: academic advising, retention initiatives and programming and student engagement. Sarah’s goal is to empower social work students to build a life and career that fulfills them and allows them to contribute to the world in a meaningful way. 

Sarah first joined the School of Social Work’s Office of Student Success as a student success advisor in 2014 before being promoted to her current role in 2019. Sarah has dedicated her career to higher education and student affairs since 2007 and has previously served at North Carolina Wesleyan College, Ohio University and the University of Richmond.
