Synchronous class times for online courses

With our online courses, your studies will be informed by the principles of promoting social justice, human rights, diversity, cultural competence and ethical practice. Class attendance is critical to a student’s mastery of knowledge and skills taught in a specific course.

Students develop essential social work skills and professional competencies as they participate in activities that include live presence and interaction, collaborative teamwork, team projects (written and oral), presentations and experiential activities, such as role plays and videotaping of clinical simulations. Due to the level of interactive participation required for course activities, a student would not be able to accomplish the learning objectives of a synchronous course session at another time or through an alternate means.

It is not reasonable for faculty to fundamentally alter, waive or lower: essential course requirements, academic standards or educational experiences/outcomes. Use the links to get more information about our online M.S.W. Program modality and our online B.S.W. courses.

Online M.S.W. modality

Our online M.S.W. modality has the following structure for synchronous classes:

• Synchronous classes for the core required classes will be during the week (Mondays through Thursdays) from 6-8 p.m. ET
• Synchronous classes for elective courses will be on Saturdays. Depending on the course, the class time will be either 9-11 a.m. ET or 1-3 p.m. ET

Online B.S.W. courses
