Lakeita Clarkson is a double VCU alumni with almost 20 years’ experience assisting students in navigating higher education. She has a well-rounded student services background in advising, financial aid, admissions and career coaching. Lakeita joined the School of Social Work as a student success advisor for the M.S.W. Program in 2021. Prior to assuming her role as the M.S.W. Program manager she worked as the interim assistant director of graduate advising. Throughout her career in higher education, she has remained passionate about fostering community and belonging by cultivating authentic relationships with students, staff and faculty.

In her down time, Lakeita enjoys crafting, listening to audiobooks and trying new restaurants with her husband, Mike. She is the proud parent of four adult(ish) children, but Indigo, her Yorkiepoo, is by far her favorite.
