Alisha serves as assistant director of graduate advising for the VCU School of Social Work, leading the graduate advising team while helping M.S.W. students navigate their academic journeys, connect with resources and confidently progress toward graduation. Before serving in her new role, Alisha supported VCU’s M.S.W. students through coaching and academic advising capacities for nearly six years.
Alisha brings two decades of higher education experience in the United States and the Middle East, including academic advising, student success coaching and program coordination. She is especially passionate about creating student-centered systems, strengthening students’ self-efficacy and fostering advising environments where both students and staff feel supported.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in nature with her husband and two daughters, leading a Girl Scouts troop, enjoying all kinds of food because she is never not hungry, and buying books that she has every intention of reading but … at least her bookcase looks good.
