School of Social Work

Ashley Staton joined the SSW in 2025 as the faculty field liaison, fulfilling her dream of returning to her alma mater to serve those who are dedicated to helping develop the future of social work. In this role, she works with field liaisons to ensure they feel fully empowered in their work with students and supported in their partnership with the school.

In addition to her role within the School of Social Work, Ashley currently serves as the social work faculty for the VCU School of Nursing’s Mobile Health and Wellness Program. The program unites students, residents and an interdisciplinary care team to bring holistic care directly to communities of underserved and underrepresented persons.

In her free time, Ashley enjoys consuming true crime documentaries, taking photos of flowers and exploring the Richmond food scene.
