Lakeita Clarkson is a VCU alumni with almost 15 years’ experience assisting students in navigating higher education. She has a well-rounded student services background in advising, financial aid, admissions and career coaching. Lakeita’s personal advising philosophy hinges on the tenets of appreciative advising and accommodating students' unique needs.

In addition to advising, Lakeita is passionate about mental health advocacy and practicing self-care with mixed media journaling. She creates and donates journaling kits to area mental health practitioners and nonprofits.

In her down time, Lakeita enjoys crafting, listening to audiobooks and trying new restaurants with her husband, Mike. She is the proud parent of four adult(ish) children, but Indigo, her Yorkiepoo, is by far her favorite.
