Leetah Stanley has nearly 25 years of fundraising and development experience in both nonprofit and higher education environments. She has served the VCU School of Education, School of Social Work and the Wilder School through her role as a senior development coordinator at VCU Donor and Alumni Relations since October 2023. Her responsibilities are centered around donor stewardship, and support of all fundraising and alumni engagement activity, scholarship fund oversight and stewardship for the three schools.

Before her current position, Stanley served as the alumni and student engagement coordinator at the School of Education for two years, and for the 11 years prior to that as the associate director of donor stewardship at the VCU School of Medicine. Stanley began her tenure at VCU, and her time in the city of Richmond, with four years at the VCU School of Dentistry starting in 2005.

Nashville, Tennessee, was home before moving to Richmond, where Stanley worked for seven years as the director of volunteer services at the Sexual Assault Center. It was there that she developed a deep appreciation for those who work in the field of social work. She was awarded the Team Building Award by the Center for Nonprofit Management in the city of Nashville and became a Certified Volunteer Administrator.

Stanley also has a previous career as a full-time touring vocalist/musician and continues to perform on a part-time basis.
