The VCU School of Social Work offers minors in mental health practice and social welfare, both of which are open to non-social work students. Social work students may also choose the mental health minor. 

Both minors are six courses and 18 hours. 

Minor in mental health practice

Develop foundational knowledge and skills through a strong preparatory framework for several career paths in the mental health field. Ideal for majors in biology, business, criminal justice, education, nursing, psychology and social work. Learn more
