M.S.W. tuition and fees

Prospective and current students can estimate tuition and university fees with the following tools:

  • Use the post-undergraduate tuition calculator for a program-specific semester estimate of your tuition and fees. Under program, remember to select either:
    • Master’s - Social Work Online or
    • Master’s - Monroe Park Campus (on-campus students)

Cost of attendance is an estimate of educational expenses used to determine financial aid eligibility, based on full-time attendance for the entire academic year. COA is a projected cost and does not represent the actual amount billed by VCU. Not all information will apply to all students.

Part-time enrollment

For most graduate and professional studies programs, students enrolled in 8 credits or less are charged tuition and fees at the per-credit-hour rate. If you are planning to enroll on a part-time basis, multiply the per-credit-hour rate by the anticipated hours of enrollment.

Full-time enrollment

Post-undergraduate programs are considered full-time at 9 credits. Most programs are assessed a flat tuition rate for enrollment in 9 to 15 credits. A graduate student enrolled in more than 15 credits during any semester will be charged an overload tuition fee.
