Katie Lo Monaco is the Northern Region coordinator for the Consortium for Resource, Adoptive, and Foster Family Training (CRAFFT), a joint initiative between the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS), Norfolk State University, Radford University and Virginia Commonwealth University. CRAFFT promotes children's safety, permanency and well-being by helping shape stronger foster, adoptive, respite and kinship families (collectively referred to as resource families), who serve local Departments of Social Services to meet the needs of children in Virginia's child welfare system.

Katie has experience working as a resource program coordinator and foster care worker in the local department. She is actively involved in her community food pantry and resource parent support group.
