As the B.S.W. program coordinator, Zacc’s goal is to help provide social work students with the best possible experience and preparation for the work itself. Their own passion for social work was born while they were a student at James Madison University, where they spent four years as a helpline advocate and coordinator for SA survivor advocacy and crisis intervention. After graduating in 2020 and working through the fallout of the early days of the pandemic, Zacc moved to Richmond in 2021 and worked as an administrator at a community veterinary clinic for two years. Directly before joining the VCU SSW, Zacc served as an intake coordinator for a local addiction medicine center, providing support, resources and treatment options to community members seeking help.
In their free time, Zacc enjoys a variety of outdoor adventures including hiking, climbing and caving. They also enjoy staying home with a good sci fi or fantasy novel and their very vocal cat, Ranger Gus.
