Tammy Hoskins is the CRAFFT coordinator for the Central Region of Virginia. She facilitates pre-service training for prospective foster parents, in-service training for approved foster parents and co-facilitates two training courses for Department of Social Services workers. She provides training support for 26 local Departments of Social Services in this role.
Prior to joining VCU, Tammy was a senior family services specialist with the Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Department of Social Services from 2018-2021 and the resource parent liaison for UMFS from 2007-2018.
Personally, Tammy has raised four biological children, adopted and raised six additional children and has been fostering for over 30 years. Tammy’s personal and professional passion for child welfare beautifully intersect allowing her to have both personal and professional experience.
Tammy enjoys working with families who are interested in foster care and adoption. She shares the joys and challenges of parenting children who have a trauma history and strives to educate and support families who foster and adopt.
